"Cheap looking" windows and doors may cost you a lot...

The life of wooden windows is at least three times longer than those made of uPVC. This may easily be observed by looking at wooden artifacts that date several hundreds years back. Any long term cost analysis will show that uPVC windows are in fact more expensive than wooden windows since they can not be repaired and need to be replaced periodically. Solid wood windows and doors are long term investments when maintained correctly and they are more economical than their artificial alternatives if use periods are taken in consideration.
The only solution for a uPVC window which has paled and/or bent under sunlight or is damaged by an impact, is replacing it, whereas, any kind of damage that a wood window may encounter can be repaired by simple carpentry methods. Besides, a wood window can be painted at any time and every kind of color change can be applied. It can easily be repaired and fittings may be changed.

It is proven in countless projects that wood windows are more economical than those made of uPVC when "total" costs incurred for the natural and the artificial material are compared for a reasonably long period of time. This is exactly similar to the difference between shoes made of artificial leather and natural leather. The first one looks cheap and has a short life, but the other one keeps its value through out its longer life.

Consumers who want to add economical and permanent value to their homes prefer solid wood windows and doors in long term instead of "cheap" but temporary materials.
